Facilities & other salient features-
a) Campus and Infrastructure –
The campus spread over beautifully landscaped area of over 130 acres offers an extremely serene and tranquil environment to its inhabitants. The campus also offers spacious classrooms labs, playgrounds, shopping arcade, faculty houses, guest houses, Ch. Devi Lal Memorial Museum, water supply system with RO plant, public health system round the clock power backup and internet facilities not only in constituent colleges but also in hostels. All the constituent colleges have their separate ultramodern building with well equipped labs, lecture halls, computer labs, seminar halls and auditorium.
b) Faculty–
The Vidyapeeth boasts of its faculty that is an excellent pool of the best human resources drawn from Academia and Industry to enable the students to relate academic input to practical work experience. The core faculty and the visiting faculty hail from different parts of the country and from renowned institutes and are an amalgam of experience, professional qualification and dedication. All the faculty members are either NET/ qualified, Ph.D., M.Phil. and possess excellent academic records. The faculty not only aims at providing the best of knowledge to the students but also at being their friend, guide and philosopher. They strive for the all-round development of the students.
c) Hostels –
Residential facilities for the students pursuing studies in various disciplines are of great importance. Our Institute provides a home away from home to its students. We have well-planned and aesthetically designed, separate hostels for girls and boys with the mess and all recreational facilities within its premises. The hostels have wide corridors, neat and clean living quarter, a hygienic kitchen providing health and nutritious food, geysers for hot water, recreation room for indoor games, gym for physical fitness, a number of computers with internet facility, television and a reading room for books, magazines etc. All the rooms have internet connectivity. The welfare of the students is given the prime importance at all times.
d) Staff-Residences-
Most of the staff members stay on campus. The campus has Principals’ residences, Staff residences, wide connecting roads and 24-hour Water and Electricity supply system, Banking facilities, Post office, canteen and its own shopping arcade.
e) Library –
The libraries are well equipped with excellent collection of books, reference materials, journals periodicals and VCDs. Spacious corridors ensure enough space and there is provision for individual lockers for the students to keep their personal belongings. In this age of e-governance, where no field remains untouched by information technology, the Vidyapeeth ensure that the students and the staff are provided computers in adequate numbers. Photocopiers have been installed in the libraries and a Book Bank has been established for the benefit of the economically weaker students who can avail all the textbooks at a nominal charge.
f) Wi-Fi Internet Facilities :-
The whole of the Vidyapeeth Campus has the internet facility through Wi-fi system. The students can use their Laptop even sitting in the farthest corner of the Vidyapeeth.
g) Computer Lab. –
The Vidyapeeth provides modern and well designed computer labs to all the Constituent Colleges which can be accessed by students as well as the faculty. 24-hours high speed internet connectivity is available to help the students in their studies, faculty, Library, administration and accounts section. All the faculty rooms have computer which help the faculty to prepare the teaching and reference material as well as to indulge in research work.
h) Science Lab. :-
The college have well equipped science labs- Physics, Chemistry and Biology containing material & equipments necessary for at least up to 10th Class Experiments for secondary school level students.
i) Educational Technology Lab. :-
The college have well equipped Educational Technology Lab having Overhead Projectors, Slide Projectors (Manual and Automatic), Epidiascopes, DVD Players, Closed Circuit TVs, L.C.D Projectors, Radio, Computers and various Educational C.Ds, Video Cassets, Audio-Tapes, various types of Models, Charts, Scientific Apparatuses, Agricultural Equipments, Wi-Fi Internet facility for Video-Conferencing and Tele-Conferencing etc. which are used to make teaching effective.
j) Psychology lab. :-
Our College has well equipped Psychology Lab having Various Psychological Tests & Psychological Equipments, Charts for B.Ed, M.Ed Students.
k) Language Lab. :-
Our College have well equipped language Lab. with Master console Unit for Teacher and Student Console Units with twin MIC socket and volume control & Audio Headphone for students to improve the communication skills of students with correct intonation, pronunciation, accent and fluency by hearing the audio cassettes of experts in communication. The students make practice of speaking the correct language with the help of language Lab.
l) Micro – Teaching Lab.:-
Our college has micro-teaching lab. which helps in removing the mistakes committed during micro-teaching lesson presentation by pupil teachers by showing them the recoded Micro-Teaching lesson delivered by them for replanning the same and practice again and again until and unless the perfection in particular skill is not achieved.
m) Work Education Labs. (Chalk Board Writing Lab., Handling of Available Equipment Lab.) :-
Keeping in view the varied interests in the student teachers, our college provides different options in Work education. The areas included in the work education are Chalk Board writing, Handling of Available Equipments & Preparing Teaching Aids (Audio-Visual Aids).
n) Work Experience Labs. :-
Our College has Work Experience Labs. Which helps the student teachers to draw a variety of work experiences related to classroom teaching- learning. B.Ed Students are given different options in training them different experiences in the areas of “Drawing and Painting, Paper Cutting & Card Board Modeling, Computer Applications, Music, Candle Making, Clay Modeling, Photography, Interior Decoration, Gardening, Chalk Making etc.”
o) Skill in Teaching Labs. in Different Subjects :-
Keeping in view the varied interests in teaching subjects of student teachers, the college provides different options in different teaching subjects in the interest of their carrier. Our College provides the various skills in teaching subjects like Teaching of Hindi, English, Punjabi, Commerce, Physical Science, Computer Science, Social Studies, History, Civics, Economics, Mathematics, Life sciences, Geography, Music, Sanskrit etc. and the separate labs. of above mentioned subjects are maintained in our college.
p) Establishment of IGNOU, New Delhi Study Centre for B.Ed, M.Ed Students:-
Our college has IGNOU Study Centre for B.Ed, with intake capacity of 100 and M.Ed with intake capacity of 25 seats . The students of B.Ed and M.Ed of IGNOU come to our college on Sundays, summer holidays and winter holidays for PCP classes, workshops, practicals, assignments and annual examinations etc.
q) Lecturer Halls –
The set up of the lecture halls of the Colleges is such that they provide a better view of the black board from all angles and also have good acoustics. The lecture halls are equipped with audio-visual aids like OHP and LCD projectors for demonstrations, case presentations and guest lecturers as well.
r) Separate AUDITORIUM of our College :-
There are various constituent colleges of J.C.D Vidyapeeth and have their separate auditorium hall for organizing various co-curricular activities of their colleges. Similarly, our college has our own separate AUDITORIUM for organizing various co-curricular activities of our B.Ed, M.Ed students.
s) Sports and Recreational Facilities –
To encourage the all round development of the students, our Institute has well developed playgrounds for cricket, footballs and courts for volley ball, badminton, basketball and lawn tennis. The students of our Institute have participated in various Colleges, University and State level competitions. Adequate facilities for indoor games also exit. The sports instructors, coach, guide mentor the students for different games.
t) JCD National Cricket Academy –
The JCD National Cricket Academy was established in 2008 at the Vidyapeeth, under the Chairmanship of Sh. Digvijay Singh Chautala, a young and dynamic sportsman, with the objective of fulfilling the long, cherished dream of Ch. Devi Lal Ji to make this region not only an academic hub for imparting high equality professional and technical education, but also a centre of excellence in Sports. Taking a giant leap forward in this direction, The Vidyapeeth started this academy to facilitate the budding Cricketers of this area so far neglected region and also to bring the hidden talents to the lime-light. The state-of-the-art International Cricket Stadium, comprising all the facilities as per the International Standards, comparable with the best Cricket grounds of the world, capable of holding day-night International Cricket Tournament was all geared-up in September, 2008 and September 2009, September 2010 to hold the 11 day International league (under-19) Twenty- 20 cricket tournament.
v) Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities-
The students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular & extracurricular activities inclusive of group discussion, quiz, drama, dance etc as a regular part of its structural process for the overall development of their personality. The students participate in various cultural activities organized by our Institute from time to time to showcase their talent. A fully fledged NSS unit is operational in our Institute, which organizes various activities and provides community services in the adjoining villages. The students of our institute also take part enthusiastically in Blood Donation Camps, Tree Plantation and Free Medical Camps from time to time.
w) Communications Skills & Personality Development Programmes-
Our Institute strongly believes that to prepare the students for their high profile professional careers, there is a great need to develop in them various skills such as communications and interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, negotiation abilities, creative thinking, and so on. The Vidyapeeth is fully aware of the fact that the competitive world in the present scenario demands that an individual possesses these skills because the global economy has redefined the skill-sets required. The increase diversity requires refined communication skills and impressive personality. Thus our institute has continuously been striving to develop these skills in its students. For this, our institute has highly experienced and qualified experts to conduct special courses on Communication Skills & Personality Development. As a step towards preparing the students for a highly completive professional career and also the attaining proficiency in the global English language, our college is in the process of establishing a fully computerized software based English language lab.
x) Communication and Information Facility :-
Our college has the facility of PA System, External Telephone system, Fax, E-mail, Internet for quick communication and Information. Besides the external telephone facility, the inter-com facility within all the constituent colleges of J.C.D Vidyapeeth has been given to every college.
y) Medical Facilities-
The Vidyapeeth has appointed Medical Officers, who take care of all the medical emergencies of the students and the staff. In addition, the physiotherapy and dental OPDs cater to the medical needs of the students and the staff.
z) Transport-
The Vidyapeeth arranges bus passes for students commuting from a distance of 60Kms. or less. Besides, it also has its own fleet of buses for local commuting.
@) Shopping Centre-
The Vidyapeeth has its own shopping arcade to cater to the daily needs of the students and the members of the staff.
# RAGGING IS ANTI SOCIAL
BAN ON RAGGING IN INSTITUTIONS AT JCD VIDYAPEETH–
Ragging in all the educational institutions of Vidyapeeth is banned and anyone indulging in ragging is likely to be punished appropriately. Punishment may include expulsion from the institution, suspension from the institution or from the classes for a limited period or fine with a public apology. The punishment may also take shape of (i) withholding scholarships or other benefit (ii) suspension or expulsion from hostel or mess and the like. If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not/cannot be identified, collective punishment can be awarded to act as a deterrent.
